Slugs and snails
Slugs and snails are the most common in our latitudes. It doesn't matter whether they are brown, black, grey, netted or red in color, they are all equally voracious. The shell snails are in no way inferior to the slugs in their voraciousness. As long as isolated individuals can be observed, no danger is imminent. However, it must be borne in mind that up to 400 eggs are laid annually in 2-3 reproductions. This means that it can very quickly become a plague.
On the one hand, the extensive feeding damage can lead to considerable damage, on the other hand, fresh damage is an entry point for bacteria. Damage to young plants can lead to total loss.
As loss of moisture is fatal for most snails, watering should be adequate. In addition, the best antidotes are collection and natural predators such as our feathered garden inhabitants. Ants should also be mentioned here.
